Example Use Case: Automating Criminal Case Intake
One of the first projects delivered through the SigmaRPA and Wrk partnership was for a Canadian criminal law firm looking to streamline the intake and onboarding of new client matters.
The firm's team managed new criminal and bail matters through a centralized intake spreadsheet. Opening a new case required staff to manually create contacts and matters in PracticePanther, interpret and standardize criminal charges, schedule court appearances, create disclosure tasks, an organize supporting documents across multiple systems.
Working together, SigmaRPA and Wrk implemented an end-to-end automated workflow that:
Reviews new client intake information from a centralized spreadsheet
Checks for existing client records before creating new contacts in PracticePanter
Creates new legal matters with the appropriate court, assignment, appearance, and case information
Interprets charges entered in plain language and maps them to standardized Criminal Code offences
Automatically creates disclosure tasks and court appearance events in both Google Calendar and PracticePanther
Generates the corresponding client document folder through an existing Box integration
